Présentation
Born out of a residency at Werkplaats Walter, this project explores Andrej Thompson’s concepts on the perception of time in music. Rooted in free jazz, and nourished by classical contemporary influences, Trinity: Consciousness, Art and Hypostasis is a meditation on identity, art, and the human experience, a deeply personal project; it’s a sonic memoir. Each composition is a chapter of Andrej Thompson’s life, from the chaotic beauty of his time in Canberra to the quiet introspection of lockdown in Slovenia. It’s a whole celebration of the people, places, and sounds that have shaped him. In it Andrej explores the boundaries of jazz, blending traditional free jazz elements with non-tonal improvisation, investigating the interplay between structure and spontaneity.
