Présentation
Over the years, bassist Félix Zurstrassen has established himself as a key figure on the Belgian jazz scene. Félix has always been fascinated by the art of the trio – and more particularly by the groups formed by pianists such as Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Danilo Pérez, Paul Bley and Brad Mehldau – and is now turning his artistic attention to this emblematic formation. He has teamed up with the talented Nicola Andrioli, a renowned Italian pianist with whom he shares a passion for melodious, harmonious jazz that is both accessible and sophisticated. British drummer James Maddren, a major figure on the UK jazz scene (Jacob Collier, Kenny Wheeler, Norma Winstone, Kit Downes, Marc Copland, Gwilym Simcock), completes the line-up with a drumming style of striking finesse, inventiveness and musical mastery.
The Jazz Station offers these three artists an unprecedented opportunity to come together as a trio around an original repertoire, conceived in close collaboration with Nicola Andrioli, and to let the magic of jazz work its magic.
