Igor Gehenot Trio

The project came to life in 2022 around a close-knit trio: pianist Igor Gehenot, bassist Sal La Rocca and drummer Umberto Odone. Together, they bring freshness and vitality to the music of the great post-bop figures, from Freddie Hubbard and Lee Morgan to Mulgrew Miller and Nicholas Payton. From this initial impulse emerged Shining Face, the pianist’s new album. The guiding thread is clear: a love of swing and melody. Following in the footsteps of his previous albums, Igor Gehenot asserts his musical signature more than ever: finely crafted writing, harmonic sensitivity and a profound artistic coherence.
