Kris Defoort & Anneleen Boehme

In recent years, Kris Defoort has been primarily active as a composer, notably for the opera The Time of Our Singing and the commissioned work for the finale, the piano concerto Music for the Heart. He has also been involved in the jazz-chamber music ensemble Pieces of Peace with Hungarian singer Veronika Harcsa. Now, he returns in his pure form as a jazz pianist, engaging in dialogue with the talented double bassist Anneleen Boehme. In April, she released her debut solo album Eunoia, a collection of original compositions written specifically for her double bass, alongside solo arrangements of existing works and improvisations. Her love for both jazz and classical music shines through, embracing the deep tones and purity of the double bass.

In this concert, we will first see Anneleen Boehme perform solo, followed by a unique duo performance with Kris Defoort in the second set.
