M∑AL Collective

The M∑AL collective, created by Célia Rorive (dancer-actress-performer) & Damien Brassart (saxophonist), brings together artists exploring connections between contemporary dance and jazz through the techniques and tools of improvisation.
The M∑AL collective and Jazz Station are continuing their collaboration in the form of evenings dedicated to improvisation.
The laboratory spirit at the heart of this project — built around two main pillars, dance and music — encourages the members of the collective to delve deeper into the possible interactions between speech and artistic performance, in order to break down the boundaries between “thought” and “action,” “speech” and “performance,” “body” and “mind.”
