Présentation
Xavi Torres is a Spanish virtuoso pianist and a leading figure of the young European music scene. Trained in both classical music and jazz, and a finalist in the Thelonious Monk Competition in 2018, he develops an energetic and imaginative musical language blending Mediterranean roots, jazz, classical music and South American rhythms. Highly prolific, he has released seven albums as a leader and performed in more than 1,500 concerts worldwide.
In his solo performances, he brings together everything that inspires him: original compositions, jazz and Brazilian standards, traditional Catalan songs, and improvisations on Beethoven or Shostakovich, highlighting his multifaceted musicality. His music is in constant evolution and exploration, making each concert unique and vibrant, leading audiences through a wide range of emotions and states.
His music arises from a deep connection with reality and its challenges, yet transcends them and speaks on its own, expressing the full complexity of the emotions of the moment, from sadness to hope, from nostalgia to gratitude with great attention to detail and nuance.
