Daniel Stokart Quartet + 3

Drawing on modal, blues and non-European musical influences, this project places improvisation and lyrical themes at its heart, playing with contrasts between ethereal atmospheres and sometimes wildly uninhibited improvisations. The music is rich in nuance, at times highly intricate, at others stripped down to its essentials, skilfully blending composed material with improvisation.

For this concert, violin, viola and cello will join the quartet, creating even more elaborate arrangements in which the timbre of the string trio intertwines with the sounds of the jazz quartet… a wealth of sounds and textures guaranteed!
